A day's drive took us back to the country's capital, Bishkek, a day before our departure date. Enough time to take in some of the sights, grab a shower and feed ourselves properly, a bit of souvenir shopping. God, this must be what normal holidays must be like all the time...

We made our last meal with the entire team a good one, although restrained ourselves to a more orderly night than the carnage in Karakol. The head honcho of Turkestan even turned up with his daughter.
It was lucky that we were restrained - our flights left at 6am in the morning, and everybody appeared slightly bewildered packing up the truck at 1am to leave for the airport. Battling away the hordes of porters that decended on us as soon as we got there soon woke everybody up, and the shock of excess baggage bills nearly gave people heart attacks. On the way over, we had somehow managed to convince the check-in guy at Heathrow that a fully loaded El Jefe weighed a mere 12kg... On the way back, everything was weighed to the nearest gram with Russian efficiency, and we sorrowfully watched our beer money for the next term being poured into Aeroflot's coffers. Damnit.

We've had a simply awesome time, but getting home is always a pleasure, and it was a happy feeling to fly in over the familiar sights of London. Watch out, we're back.
