By lunchtime and a bit of satellite communication later, the two trucks were again united. The previous day for the other half of the team had been a little frustrating: The river that they had expected to paddle had been a no-go, and the day was plagued by exploding milk cartons, and even worse exploding honey jars. Repeatedly cleaning the truck out had taken most of the morning. By mid-day, they decided to make camp and chill for the afternoon. The local kids had other ideas however...Wearing the sweet rockers was popular, as was football, volleyball and cricket. Poor Wouter and James got a little mobbed.

The sweet rocker fit test..

..football..

..and the mobbing!

With various people either too tired to paddle or with suspected stomach bugs, the team again split into two groups. James, Phil H, and Martyn took the 'ambulance' truck to find a campsite at the confluence of the Juuka and the lake. The rest of us headed upstream to explore and paddle. The Juuka proved typical of this region - a low-volume steep bouldery creek with tree hazards, and Wouter was estatic to be back on the water. Another good run.

Andre, our driver, took us the 'scenic' route back to the others camping at the confluence, crossing a few fields arbitrarily, and nearly getting us stuck in a ditch, but we made it there in the end to a fin meal of some un-identified fish and rice.
